“The upshot is that Perry is essentially an accessory to murder. He executed an innocent man, displaying zero interest in the man’s innocence. When a commission subsequently investigated the episode, Perry fired its members.
It is telling that the political culture that has nurtured Perry is so morally demented that demonstrating that he blithely executed an innocent man is not a political liability.” - Jonathan Chait
“It Takes Balls To Execute An Innocent Man”
I read about this on reddit this morning want instantly went, “WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK???” - this is what’s wrong with this country - governor condones execution of an innocent man, supporter says “It takes balls to execute and innocent man.”
What if that innocent man had been his father, his brother, what the fuck America?
Can’t wait to leave Texas.
I don’t believe in any gods or goddesses, because they are so obviously human inventions. Desert-dwellers have severe, austere and dry gods; suffering and oppressed people have loving and merciful gods; farmers have gods of rain and fruitfulness; and I have never met a liberal who believed in a conservative God or a conservative who believed in a liberal one. Every God I have ever heard of bears the indelible marks of human manufacture, and through history we can explain how and why we invented them.

The Michele Bachmann Quote of the Day
“Carbon dioxide is natural, it is not harmful, it is a part of Earth’s lifecycle. And yet we’re being told that we have to reduce this natural substance, reduce the American standard of living, to create an arbitrary reduction in something that is naturally occurring in Earth.”
Right, carbon dioxide is never harmful. That’s why carbon dioxide poisoning doesn’t exist. And anything that occurs naturally can never be harmful in excess! So let’s all adopt diets with lots of arsenic; it occurs naturally in rice and seafood! Of course it won’t harm us! After all, it’s natural.
Well…she sort of is correct. Anything on this earth is natural. Carbon dioxide doesn’t hurt the planet, it only hurts life (i.e. us). The planet will surive, we won’t.
Yeah but she’s arguing that reducing CO2 emissions will infringe on the “American standard of living,” but if they continue to grow at the rate they are now, there won’t be any standard of living soon enough. Like you said, it hurts life. And I don’t think taking a position that is detrimental to the persistence of life on earth is exactly a stellar campaign strategy :P
I don’t understand how this woman survived into adulthood.
